No good in the 2K nolimit, got heads up for a $10K main event seat and lost to a 2 outer! I guess I just need to keep plugging along. We are in the middle section of the WSOP and I think a lot of players are feeling the stress of the long days and nights.
My buddy Dave Colclough cashed again in the 2K nl, Bev Cheney had to talk to a “poker head shrinker” yesterday after another bad beat, Marc Goodwin went back to England for the birth of his 5th child, Tony Chessa is still sitting on the couch, and I am down over $20k for the WSOP. I guys we all need a good break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Luck to all!!
Rookie
I need some good luck

No luck in the 2K pot limit, took yestersay off and I hope to play the 2.5K short handed today. Poker is really an easy game if you compare it to real life. Yesterday was a terrible day as I dealt with real estate problems in Florida, sponsorship issues, and the fact that I have not had a major cash since last October.
My hopes are to play well the last 3 weeks of the WSOP and prepare to play full time for the 6 months following the main event. I have played a lot over the last year but not nearly full time. It is very hard to get to the table and put everything else out of your mind. You need to do that at the WSOP because it can cost you a ton of $$$$$$ if you make just one mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just win baby, just win!!!!!!
Just dont know!!!

Well all I can say about the $1k no limit re-buy is that I played to win. After a few nice hands I found myself in the top 5 of the chip count and I was moved to Gavin Smiths table. We had a few battles and we were able to make it until the table was broken with no major wounds inflicted. Gavin was actually the chip leader and I can tell you he was not going to back down to any play I made at him.
To my next table I found Andy Block, Conner Tate, Tim Phan and Huck Seed. I never really got going on this table and my stack went from 55K down to about 38K before I played the hand that would either make me or cripple me. I was in the big blind of 800 and Conner raised in late position to 3200. The small blind called as I did so we took a flop of 5h, 6h, jc. I held Ad, 5d and had a decision to make. The small blind checked as I did, then Conner bet 10K of his 27K stack. Small blind folded and I had a choice to make! Is this a good situation to make a move or not? In the end I thought I could, I moved all in over the top of Conner. He made a reluctant call and showed QQ and it held up as no Ace of Five came to my rescue. I had crippled my stack and shortly after that I donked off my final 10k in chips.
Wasted opportunity? Good move? Stupid play? Bad timing? Unlucky? These are some of the questions I tried to answer over the next 3-4 hours as I talked to the members of the House of Cards. Looking back I think I should have waited until I was in the money for any major “move”. Was I playing to win? YES. I guess you learn from your mistakes and after I saw Tim Phan and Andy Block make the final table ( they both had under 12K when I had 40K) it makes you think about the timing and the necessity of making a move like this. Sometimes everything you do is right, sometimes it just does not matter.
Today is another day, going to play the 2k pot limit holdem and hopefully I get another big stack and I can play it a little better.
Just win baby, just win!!!!!

Its WSOP time again and I can’t tell you how crazy it has been. After winning my 1st bracelet last year I could not wait to get back for the 2006 edition. I have not yet had the success that I had in 2005 but we are only a week or so into the events. I did manage a 47th place in the $5K no limit event so I think there is reason for optimism. The madness has not slowed and the fields are setting records with every new event. Hopefully I will find my form once again and put myself in a position to win my 2nd bracelet.
Yesterday I moved into the “MANSION”. Yes, I said mansion, it is a 14,000 square foot house in Las Vegas with 3 bars, a bowling alley and enough style to impress anyone. We are making a TV show called House of Cards with the intended purpose of giving people a TRUE look at the behind the scene stories of 6 professional players seeking bracelets and cash for 6 weeks in Vegas. The other cast members in the house are a collection of Europeans and players seeking the bigger spotlight of fame and fortune at the 2006 WSOP.
1) Dave “el Blondie” Colclough
2) Marc “Mr. Cool” Goodwin
3) Tony “the mad muppet” Chessa
4) Beverly ” boom boom ” Cheney
5) Al “rat bastard” Adler
We are living in this house to help, teach, learn from, and generally support each other in our quest to reach the ultimate poker goal; to win a WSOP gold bracelet and prove to the poker world that you belong with the best players in the world. It is my goal to become a better player through the interaction in the House of Cards and enjoy the greatest poker tournament in the world.
Today it’s off to the Rio for the $1k no limit holdem event. This is a rebuy event so it always comes with crazy stories and the table draw always seems to be one of the most important things in the event. Hopefully I can draw one of the deep pockets like Daniel of Mr. Smith; if I do I know it will be fun.
Just win baby, just win!
