As you may have guessed I am currently live blogging from my day 2 table. If your a grammar Nazi like jess welman please don’t jump off a bridge. In the middle of writing that last sentence I managed to double up with AA vs KK to around 40k my high mark of the tournament. The table seems pretty average so far. Ray Henson live pro and some bald dude in a Harley Davidson shirt haven’t folded a hand in 90 minutes so everyhand takes forever to complete. The goal is to finish the day with 400k since I started with 12.5k. This day keeps getting weirder. Richard our new dealer sits down and asks me if I am googling him. He proceeds to tell me I should yahoo him instead because he is in the video and I quote “black and yellow dick”. I am afraid I can’t make that shit up. I wish I had
the new iPad so that I could take a picture of sweet old white
haired Richard to show everyone. I will blog again if I manage to
double again.

Things aren’t going so well . . .

50 minutes into level 2 and I’m down to 14k. The guy in the Harley Davidson shirt got me good. I flopped trips vs his top pair and since he hasn’t folded a single hand yet top pair is out of the question. Poker and the main event is incredible watching people try to give you chips and fail is something that will upset me forever.

Random tidbits

- it is very cold in the tan section
- David Vamplew could fill in for Harry Potter very nicely in those movies
- people should stop wearing sunglasses at poker tables
- for some reason I’m not a fan of non American players because of their mannerisms at the table I don’t know what that makes me

All of the sudden it seems like I have a lot time on my hands. I don’t know where all this free time came from perhaps I’m missing something. So I decided to go to the gym in my building every day to strengthen my already intimidating 125-pound frame. I would post pictures but I don’t think anyone wants to see my scrouny body now so I will wait n post results later if I actually go through with it.

I assume I need to do the followings things to be successful.
- Have Free Time to Workout {x}
- Hire a Personal Chef so I stop eating like crap {x)
- Actually Workout { }

Poker

The last few weeks have been pretty boring to say the least. I flew down to Florida for WPT SHR. This tournament was actually the first time this year in 7 Main Events that I actually made a day 2. Sadly I busted 2 levels into Day 2 after I got coolered Queens to Aces. So I did the only sensible thing I could think of and booked a last minute flight to EPT Grand Finale in Madrid. I am hoping to only play the Main Event while I am there because I don’t plan on busting but if I do there is a 5k 8max and 10k turbo that could be exciting as well. The goal here is to make a run at a final table to pick up some momentum before the Bellagio Championship and the WSOP.

Long Flight

I am currently sitting on an 8-hour non stop flight to Madrid watching a movie called No Strings Attached. This might be one of the worst movies I have ever seen but I can’t turn it off. The main reason I can’t turn it off is because it is on a giant TV in the plane and I just don’t have the remote or the authority. There is a silver lining. I get to look at Natalie Portman for 2 hours and when she isn’t on the screen I try to figure out how Ashton Kutcher has a job. I can’t wait to win this EPT so I can fly home immediately after and attend a few Bulls games.

Boring Poker Stuff

I am currently writing from my home in Chicago,IL. I had to cut the California trip short because of a root canal (yay!). LAPC was just a giant disaster for me. I played 4 prelims and managed to not make a run in any of them. The main event was pretty much over for me when I check jammed a full house and was snap called by a better one causing me to grind a 25 bb stack and eventually squeezing 9s into quads jacks all in preflop. The cash games had been pretty good so I decided to just hang out there until the event formerly know as “NAPT” took place. Fake NAPT was over pretty quickly as well, I got 35k in pre at 150/300 with QQ vs AK after someone else folded AK the board ran out A J 2 Q 10.

Beach House

After staying at the black hole none as The Commerce Casino (no offense Matt Savage LAPC is amazing ) Sunny (Hustla16), Moorman, Mclean (Pureprofitfour), Chris Moore (Live Pro), and I decided to rent a beach house In Hermosa Beach. This was easily the best decision I have made in California ever. The house was amazing and very pricey but worth it. We grinded online on Sunday which turned out to be a very good session. Moorman and I also fed our addiction to the show Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family. I will try my best to post an awesome story from the house if I get a chance later.

Whats Next?

March is the best month of the year. For the rest of the month I plan to sit on my ass and watch an abundance of College Basketball. Sadly, for me I root for The Fighting Illini who will never win anything until they get rid of Bruce Weber (The worst coach in America). I also want to try to make it out to Bay 101 depending on how my teeth feel. Right now they hurt like hell so I am just taking meds which will cause me to miss St. Pattys Day. The last two years I have managed to get in the money at Bay 101 so maybe this is where I get my first live cash of 2011. A guy can dream.

Last Saturday, Harrison and I were getting ready to go out, so naturally we were sipping on our third bottle of Perrier. At some point, a random argument broke out about Britney Spears. I argued that the song “Lucky” was one of her top five songs. Harrison, eager to prove me wrong, went on Google and looked up a bunch of random rankings. Needless to say, I was “Lucky” to even see it in someone’s top 20. Two days later, Faraz’s friend from college, Anastasia, who works at a radio station somewhere in the world, posted the following on her Facebook wall, and the comments started rolling in:

To say I got owned pretty hard is putting it lightly. Now I must go off in search for my balls.

I am currently heading home from Melbourne. The weekend in New Zealand was fun. Now it is time to focus on the online grind for two weeks before heading to LA for a month to play LAPC, NAPT, and Bay 101.

“I like to leave Jaka 1/8 of my Big Mac”

I have been in Melbourne for over a week now. I must say, this is an awesome city and the Aussie Millions is easily one of the softest tournaments of the year. Unfortunately, the field is still better than me and I failed to cash in the Main Event or any of the three side events I played in. While I am here, I am staying with Harrison “Live Pro” Gimbel, Hiren “Online Hero” Patel (hustla16), and Faraz “all-around character” Jaka.

I don’t see any kangaroos hopping around the street, which is kind of disappointing. They must have all migrated North or South. Who am I kidding? Americans have no idea what the rest of the world looks like on a map. I was very disappointed with the lack of mating. And by mating, I mean people saying “mate.” Then Chris Moorman showed up. Tomorrow we are going to Queenstown, New Zealand for a few days before coming back to grind Sunday online, then heading back to America.
