First of all I’m going to apologise for the lack of updates throughout the WCOOP. On the whole thing’s didn’t really go my way and I was just trying to focus on the next up and coming tournament rather than bemoaning about my lack of luck in the last. For that reason I didn’t update on a daily basis as I didn’t have too many positive things to say.

I played close to a full schedule in the WCOOP which must of been around 30 events including the 10k hi roller tourney and various forms of poker I have little knowledge of such as Stud h/l etc. I only managed 3 cashes overall which was a very disappointing return (7th in the $215 1ra plo and 22nd in the $1k plo as well as a min cash in the 5 card draw lol). I played really well in the omaha and I’m definitely happy with how my omaha game is progressing, especially considering how rarely I play it. The final table was pretty sick with the likes of Menlo, Andy Mcleod and the mighty Chris Moneymaker lol. I managed to hold my own though and without this brutal beat here http://www.pokerhand.org/?3184941 may have been able to put up a real run at the bracelet and $100k ftw. Stil $17k ish was a great result in a game in which I’m still learning a ton everytime I play.

Unfortunately I didn’t manage to cash in one NLH WCOOP event….. seriously wtf! How can I not cash 1 of say 15 events in which I have a huge edge in and a great structure? I felt I played well in pretty much all of these events but things really didn’t go for me at all. This whole period was a dodgy period as far as nlh tourneys were concerned for me. I made a ton of deep runs but just couldn’t close at all. Partly my fault and partly the cards but at times like these you have to keep trying to grind it out. The 100r was one tourney I just couldn’t finish off until now……

Today I only played the early tournaments as I needed to get up early tomorrow in order to get a new passport so that I can attempt to play the WSOPE and EPT London in the next week. I managed to accumulate a nice stack early on in the 100r but this time things didn’t go as well for as they had been in the mid stages of this tourney lately. However things went a lot better deep in this then they had been and imo this is a lot more important. The moment when I really started to believe that I was going to finally do it again was on this soulread hand http://www.pokerhand.org/?3240193. If he turned up with an ace, a 6 or a boat here god I would look soooooo stupid but thankfully my read was spot on this time and I managed to hold. If the river is a diamond or a king then I can assure you my pc is getting smashed lol. From here on in things were pretty smooth with the game only ever coming in to doubt when headsup was a cagey long match but I felt incontrol for most of it. In the end it was just a case of getting over the finishing line in a big comp again. This added to a tilt $75 win earlier in the week puts me in line for a 6th triple crown lol. Also congrats to Pab who shipped the 100r the night before for around $30k…. sicko!. Uk 100r ownage imo.

Hopefully I get my I.d tomorrow or If I don’t they allow me to play the live events without it. These 2 events have huge prizepools and manageable fields. Also with them both being held in England it would be pretty news if I could go deep in one of them and hopefully It would open up sponsorship opportunities etc. Also after my deep run in GUKPT Luton I am feeling my live game a lot more and really want to test myself against some of the best. Fingers crossed I get to play, run good and play good.

Lastly I’d like to congratulate Alex ‘Ajkhoosier1′ Hoosier on a sick run in the WCOOP main event. If you haven’t been on the internet poker planet for the last week then he took 3rd place for $780k ish. Also he overtook me on the p5s rankings system and now has a huge lead over me oh well back to the grind and the impossible chase of Ajkhoosier. In my experience though Greater motivation normally brings greater results so lets hope this is the case

So last Sunday I FINALLY managed a big score on a Sunday with a 3rd place in the $500k $500 freezeout on Stars. This tourney is a relatively new tourney and the field is very strong so to take 3rd in it is a top result. I was absolutely flying in this until this sick cooler http://www.pokerhand.org/?3128365. After I took this beat I just about managed not to tilt off and grinded to the final table with a shortish stack. At the final I had a bit of luck when I reshoved KJ into fishontilt’s Ak and got there and then grinded/laddered up until I managed to donk off a lot of chips 4 handed. Shortly into 3 handed play I ran my aj into Thugmoneymaker’s KK and that was that. $50k for my efforts though was great stuff.

This Friday the WCOOP started. I have only managed 1 mini cash in the four events I have played so far and that was in 5 card draw lmao. Me allinstevie and Titantom32 are taking part in a WCOOP contest as well and you can find the results here http://wcoop.pocketfives.com/.

Unfortunately this week has been a bit short of scores but I feel I’m playing well and things will hopefully turn soon. Tomorrow is probably the biggest day of poker for me ever with approx $20k worth of buyins! including the $10k hi roller WCOOP and the $2.5 million on Ipoker. Fingers crossed I can run good tomorrow and put up a huge score. On that note I better get some sleep so I feel 100% for tomorrow. Hopefully good news to report soon……

So after a long struggle (which began on the 13th December 2006! when I first became ranked) I finally made it to the coveted number one spot on pocketfives. Obviously the system has its flaws (every ranking system does) and it doesn’t mean I’m the best mtt player in the world but hey I can’t be that far off and It was a huge long term goal for me in online poker so I’m pretty happy right now.

2008 pokerwise has been great for me. I’ve established myself from a solid grinder to one of the best players out there. I’m not quite sure how I actually made that final jump as a player but I would put a lot of it down to hard work. I listed my poker goals at the start of the year and here are a refresh of them and an analysis on how I’m getting along with them

Top 5 ranking (made number 1 was secretly my long term aim but didn’t want to publicly aim too high)

A significant Live Result (yet to come near miss in the gukpt Luton if only I didn’t hero call sigh)

Roi on all 3 main sites (Stars, Tilt, Party) above 50% (the year so far full tilt 143% roi weeee , stars 34.54% sigh, party 98.26% love you party donks)

100k cash hands on ipoker/full tilt ($3/$6-$10-$20) with over 5bb/100 (bb/100 was sick good shame I haven’t managed 10k hands yet lol)

Top 10 of OPOY on cardplayer (56th shows how good I run in those Sunday majors/ftops)

Top 10 on internetpokerankings.com (smashing the euro schedule with an unassailable lead and 6th in the u.s race)

$500k profit (should do this providing I don’t go too crazy with my wcoop rebuys lol)

Top 5 in p5s yearly plb (number 1 by a distance atm)

Win a Sunday Major (negative for life obv)

Win the January Monthly Plb on p5s (any month would do actually) (its more fun coming 2nd and 3rd every month imo, ok I’ll be positive and predict a September win when I take down a wcoop and a Sunday major lol

So overall I’m pretty happy with how my goals for the year are taking shape and there is still time to turn around the ones I haven’t been so successful with. I’m planning on playing quite a few live comps between now and the end of the year (finally got a new passport appointment sorted lol) My tentative live schedule for between now and the end of the year includes the WSOPE, EPT London, The masters Classic in Amsterdam, LAPT Costa Rica and EPT Prague. Will maybe sell %s for some of these if I don’t hit anything big before then.

As far as my future plans are I’m still going to play a lot online but I will definitely be cutting my volume a bit and trying to focus more on live poker. Having said that I gotta try and hold on to that number 1 spot for a while to prove its no fluke so I won’t be retiring just yet

In all seriousness though with the volume I have been putting in on a typical session its important to keep putting up numbers or the buyins will catch up with you. Fortunately I have been able to maintain my run with the highlights since my last update being a 2nd place in the Nightly 100k on stars for just under $20k, a chop with Flushy in the Party Super Monday for $6200, a win in the shitty tilt 6 max for around $5k (won me a 5th triple crown!) and a 2nd in the Party Saturday Special for around $10k. Right now I feel like I’m playing the best I ever have and that’s really shown in the consistency of my results….

Yet still another Sunday passed without the big score In fact the day was a total disaster for me and I actually ended up quitting the session early due to life tilt after bubbling an EPT London satellite. But there will be more Sunday’s, more big shots and more chances; just gotta keep putting yourself out there…… like I did in the 1k last night until this cl pot with 30 left http://www.pokerhand.org/?3072092. Sigh life tilt again…. However, wake up the next day and you remember its just a game at the end of the day and these things happen to everyone it’s just how you deal with it. You have to be more determined and comeback stronger for the next time and hopefully this time things will go your way……

So anyway I’m not really sure where I’m actually going with this post but basically what I’m trying to say is that I’m fortunate to be doing something I love for a living, fortunate to have the freedom to do what I want to do on a certain day or time (even if that does make me a lazy fucker a lot of the time) and fortunate to know that everyday and every hand I play I am improving and that the WCOOP is around the corner… all I need now is my stars account to be ready… I hope your reading this Lee Jones

Well I’m back winning which is obviously a good thing. Since my last post I took down the stars $50 freezeout $70k guaranteed for $12k and change, won the Mansion $20k as well as taking a 5th place in FTOPS Horse lmao.

FTOPS HORSE was pretty much the funniest thing ever. I wasn’t even going to play as I wasn’t particularly keen on just blowing $500 in a tourney which I hardly knew the rules of a couple of the disciplines, however, thanks to late registration I decided to eventually join the tournament and mainly saw it as a chance to finally learn all the disciplines of the game. Basically my plan was to learn as I went and with the great structure at the start of the tourney I had a bit of time to work out what was going on and to try and go from there….. plus I was a limit holdem pro after my 20th finish in the ftops lhe event the other week lol.

Well I exceeded all my expectations and actually had a decent stack going into the bubble. To be honest I was just ecstatic to cash in this competition and thats pretty much the only time that has been the case in my poker career (apart from say my first ever cash etc). I played really well in the limit holdem rounds deep in the comp (helped that it was shorthanded quite a bit when we got to these rounds) and I also felt my stud hi game was decent as well. The hi lo games I was pretty wank at but managed to get by and as for Razz well anyone with half a brain can play that one lol.

On the final table I managed to ladder to 5th place for around $13.5k. I got really lucky to double up whilst shortstacked in stud hi versus Rex (special mention to her for a great run t0o) but my major downfall came when I missed a low draw in omaha 8 and got snapped off. Eventually I busted in Razz to the eventual winner Yuvee04. Such a sick accomplishment from him that day by winning two ftops on the same day (tilt turbo as well). I know little about the game of HORSE still but I could tell he was a different class to the rest of the table at the game.

So all is great right? Well no not really lol. That fifth in the HORSE was a great feeling. It was probably the only 5th I have ever been 100% happy with, I didn’t even once think about the difference between first and 5th (70k to 13.5k) and I was so happy to finally have a great day again and then came the FTOPS $300r 6 max event….

Wow this was brutal! Maybe even up there with my bust in the original $2500 FTOPS event where I lost AA to AK sooted all in pre for a monster pot with 25 left and $400k for the win. The 6 max comp got off to a slow start and I was pretty much grinding all tournament. I got really lucky when I made a bad reshove with 95 sooted blind on blind when I was semi-tilted and got looked up by a3 but got there. I then said to Rex on Aim (who was ghosting most of the tourney) that I need to make the most of that bit of fortune and I certainly set about doing that as I began to chip up in the mid to late stages. After the bubble burst I was moved to a tougher table but things continued to go really well and despite playing 1 pot particularly horrible I found myself as the chipleader with 40 left

From here on in I managed to stay in the top 5 till we got to 13 left. Despite having what appeared to be a very comfortable stack with 520k at 6/12k I knew that one flip could easily make or break my tourney and shortly after the hourly break I got royally screwed here to bust out in 13th http://www.pokerhand.org/?3046660. $250k ftw and I get $9500…. NICE.

To be honest I hate empiremaker2000′s line here. The much better play would be to raise and then 4 bet shove when I obviously re raise him. That way when Im bluffing he gets like an extra 100k chips. This way he obv takes the pot down like 95% of the time but I can assure you when I call I have Aj+ 88+ which Aj obv plays terrible against. And although he wins the pot 95% of the time he is not exactly winning a massive pot when I fold to his limp shove. Also his hand has a ton of value post flop if I do just flat call in position and If an ace were to flop and I had just called with a low sooted ace for example he could get 3 streets of value as I would most likely put him on trying to barrel me off middle pair on the flop as it was unlikely that I had an ace with my flat call pre flop.

So I’m still awaiting that HUGE score. Soooooo many near misses in the big ones now and nearly all of the time I have been screwed right in my eye I’ve had a lot of people say to me don’t worry its just a matter of time etc but people have said that for over a year now and it still hasn’t happened. Sure I’ve had loads of big scores and I’m grateful for them but I just really want to win that Sunday Major, That Ftops, That Wcoop and even that Live tournament. It’s not even about the money to be honest (obviously it would be nice!!) but its really just about being the best, thats what I want to be….. Lets see if I can do it in the FTOPS $2500 2 day event which starts on Saturday….

Until then take it easy Chris.

Back in March 2007 I won my first triple crown on pocket fives an accomplishment I was incredibly proud of. As my volume and level of play have increased over the past year or so I have naturally replicated this feat a number of times and in the first week of August I managed to become the first player to ever get four triple crowns. There are a couple of articles about the feat and I’ll list them here if your interested.

http://www.pocketfives.com/online-poker-scene/chris-moorman1-moorman-wins-fourth-triple-crown-3153660

http://www.pokerverdict.com/Poker-Players-Club/Interviews/95819/moorman1_wins_fourth_triple_crown.html

So that was all good and that but I really wanted to not only be one of the most consistent winners online but also shipping the real big ones ie ftops, wcoop, Sunday Majors and doing something in the live arena…..

Well I thought the seconds of those two was going to come true last week. I played the £1k Grovesenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (gukpt) event in Luton and managed to amass a ton of chips before falling just short when I busted in a MONSTER pot to Sam Trickett, (perhaps the only player I feared that was left in the tournament). Obviously he went on to win and ship the £109k. Congrats Sam. Here is the end of the bustout hand where I think in end I confused myself into calling with a rivered set of queens

http://www.thenutz.tv/videodetail.php?video_id=67267.

The hand went down a really weird way though and Sam could definitely of been bluffing in this spot imo. I would talk about the hand more but I’m kind of sick of thinking about it tbh lol.The highlight of the event was finally getting my own back on my nemesis John Gale (who berated me in my first wsop for a sick call down I made and promised me that I’d be busto in 6 months lol)

So back to online action…. Thing have been pretty shitty I missed a bunch of FTOPS events but managed a frustrating 20th in the limit event today for $750 when first paid $45k, also had a near miss in the mansion 150k when I took 9th for $2500 with first paying $41k. Sunday was a complete washout and pretty much every other tourney I have been coolered in (favourite occurrence is kk into aa for the cl atm), the few I have run good in I have proceeded to donk myself lol so hopefully that changes sooner rather than later. I’ve never been one to give up so I’m determined to come back with a Bang….

On the positive side of things, I’m playing good, getting to grips with live play and ready….. now it’s just down to the poker gods

Last time I blogged I was in the middle of a good run and I’m pleased to say that it has continued over the past week with wins in $50r PLO on Sunday on Stars!(lmao yeh I’m more surprised about that one than you probably are). Followed by taking down the $55 1ra on Stars the very next day. Steve Davis avatar ftw imo.

The Omaha win was very welcome as the Saturday tourneys and all the Sunday tourneys had been pretty much a washout with a variety of problems including internet issues (nothing more annoying!), ridiculous plays/calls from idiots getting there in huge pots in big tourneys (did I say there was nothing more annoying?) and I guess I may have tilted a few tournaments off lol. As far as the omaha was concerned I find it pretty ironic that I sit there on a Sunday and play 25 nlh tournaments that are filled with a lot of Sunday donks which I have a huge edge on and cant’ pick up anything in them… but I play one PlO tourney where I’m pretty much the FISH and I end up taking it down for 10k weeeee. Poker is fun!

I felt I played a pretty tag plo game all the way through. My theory is if you are unsure in a lot of spots then don’t get into them lol. At the end of the day in a plo mtt there are no ante’s so there isnt really a need to play a ton of hands. I made 1 horrible bluff on the bubble where I raised Scarface (I eventually beat him hu, but he played a great game) on the river when the flush came and I had the naked ace of hearts only for him to shove all in on me…. wtf!! “how can he have the nut flush”??? “oh the boards paired”… sigh gg half my stack. I came back from this really well managing not to tilt it off and ran pretty good 2 obviously. Headsup is a bit of a blurr but I got lucky on the last hand to win. I felt I was guessing a lot of the time, I do have a decent amount of experience in plo cash games but I’m no expert or anything! Omaha ftops in a few weeks….. 1 time? lol.

Here is a nice 3 barrel from me: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2955849
The last run good hand headsup: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2968052

So onto the $55 1ra. Stars recently upped all their gurantees etc which is obviously really good because it attracts more fish, bigger fields, and bigger wins etc etc. Variance will obviously suck more though. Well also they changed the structure of this tourney which means after you buyin and double rebuy at the start you have 6000 chips plus 4k for the addon and basically deepstacked poker is fun and the bad players make bigger mistakes etc. I pretty much crushed this tourney and had a huge stack the whole time (often over 100 bbs) (obv I sucked out when I needed too as well, sorry 10 bbs with ace ace no good versus 96 sooted mate). So i was cruising until I decided to self destruct and 4 bet all in with qt off straight into kk against another big stack… erm oops. Managed to comeback by running god like again (seriously wtf stars) and despite starting headsup with a big deficit turned it around with two pretty sick holds and shipped it for $7k.

Its been kind of heart breaking though since then. I came 10th in the 100k on Stars the night b4 after being chippy for a long period, the same story with 11th in the early 100r and 10th in the early tilt 150. Hey you can’t win them all can you? unless your AJK Hoosier lol congrats on being just 2 sick mate. Up to number 2 on pocket fives and was seriously close to cracking the number1 spot but it just wasn’t to be. Its going to be hard to get to number 1 anytime soon as well with AJK about but I’m only 1 big Sunday win away I guess…

As far as Live poker plans. i seriously need to do something in that field soon. A bunch of us are going to the UK poker tour event in Luton next week so that should be a quality weekend and hopefully I can make some noise there. I’m also planning on playing at least two of the following tourneys; WSOPE, EPT Barcelona and EPT london. I might sell %s depending on my FTOPS and WCOOP so watch this space if you want to buy a piece of me for any of these events. Sorry for the long post but if you don’t want to read it, you dont have too

Poker online has been going great lately…. especially on Full Tilt obv! On Sunday I won the $75 $35k tourney that starts at midnight in the UK. I had never previously won this tournament before (despite playing it most days) and I always referred to it as the rigged full tilt tourney lol. Well finally I did it and it was pretty sweet that I managed it on a Sunday as it was a much larger field than normal which meant a $15.5k and change payday for the win.

Last Night I also managed to take down the early tilt $150 $40k guaranteed for $13.7k and change weeeeeeeeeeee. Been running very well on Full Tilt (whats’ new?) and just as bad on Stars (lol obv). Quite liking the Ipoker network mtt’s as of late (started playing 2or 3 a session now) and had some results. Including a 3rd in their Super Tuesday $100r $50k guaranteed on Tuesday for around 5k and a 4th in their $50r $150k guaranteed last Friday for $9k. Some of the play in those tourneys was HORRENDOUS to say the least lol.

I briefly made it to number 2 on pocket fives ranking system today but they declared it void as obviously I’m not that good . In all seriousness though hopefully I can keep putting up results and can get to number 1…. Small session with the early ones tonight then I’ll be back Saturday and Sunday trying to win the biggies… fun fun fun… until then gl at the tables…. Chris

The big weekend tourneys were as usual a case of what might of been. I went deep in the million, 2nd chance and 200r but got proper screwed in all three of them. This actually led to me uninstalling stars LOL. Needless to say it was back on my computer on Monday at 11am for the 100 rebuy… yeah I’m a donk!

Monday didn’t really go according to plan for the most part until in my last tournament the $100 1ra on Full Tilt I managed to RUN LIKE GOD and took 2nd place for around $8500. I lost to Jason Gray headsup who is a great player and got the better of me this time (nxt time Jason!).

Tuesday turned into a great day with 3 final tables in all. First I finalled the early 100r on Stars with my housemate in Vegas; Pab (aka Paolo69 on stars or better known as LEADBOOTS on full tilt). I was 1 of the chipleader for most of this tourney and was chipping up nicely until I did my usual trick on Stars of losing every all in after the bubble bursts. I got to the final table as 1 of the short stacks and unfortunately bust in 8th when I open shoved my 13 bbs with 66 straight into 99. Pab had a few unfortunate hands and busted out in 6th… sigh.

At the same time I was smashing up the early Tilt $150. From the bubble break till the final table I think I played really well and pulled off a few huge moves which enabled me to enter the final table with a dominant chipstack. At the final table all didn’t go to to plan to start off with a guy raise calling all in with 98 sooted versus my 33 lol but I managed to grind it back and got into headsup play with only a slight chip deficit. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be as I got rivered in a race for the tournament where my opponent 4 bet all in with a7 versus my 66 and got there on the river. Still 2nd place was good for another $8500 and wiped out some more of my live losses weeeeeeeeee. The success didn’t end there for the day as I managed to take down the $75 $17.5k on full tilt for just over $6k. Another winning day online and upto 3rd on pocket fives…. now just to start winning something BIG oh and also to just win anything on Pokerstars would be nice LOL.

So I decided to start my main event on day 1a so that I could have a bit of time if the unlikely happened and I made it to day2. Also I would still get to play Sunday’s online .

My start table could of been better as it included the likes of Julian Thew (probably the best player in the UK right now and a great guy too), Chad Brown and two decent online pro’s. We also had plenty of eye candy with Maya Antonious in the 2 seat. I started off okay chipping upto about 25,000 from the original 20k in the first level with a few small pots here and there. After the first break I went super card dead and folded a lot, spewed a lot and basically rinsed and repeated this until i was down to about 7000 at 150/300 with a 25 ante….

Dinner break came and went and I tried to pump myself up because I knew I was still in it with over 20 bbs and was really just 1 double up from a healthy stack again. Nothing much happened for a while (a reshove here and there) until I open shoved 4200 at 300bb with JJ in mid position not really expecting any calls as I had been super tight for a while. To my suprise the small blind snapped me with k4 clubs!!! wtf, somehow I managed to hold and now I could start my main event over….

Unfortunately me being me spewed some of my chips back when I 3 bet an aggressive player with rags and had to fold to their 4 bet shove. Not much of note from then on until I managed to double up with a9 sooted versus the king4 guy who actually had ak somehow… after this suckout I thought I was due a big comeback and maybe a deep run but it wasn’t to be as i busted out an hour before the end of the day…

To understand the situation I need to give a bit of background history on the player. The player in question was the same king 4 soooted guy and had a habit of flat calling raises out of position, donking the flop for 1/4 pot and getting raised and then floating out of position with 5 high and no draw and then post oak bluffing 1/10th of the pot on the river when the turn had gotten checked through… I can quite honestly say I have never played with someone so bad lol. So the hand before my bust hand he raises his 4th pot in a row and this time its from utg. Unlike the other times he gets a bit of resistance when he gets cold called in mid position and the sb and then the bb jams in his 15bbs. He reships in his stack and the first caller snap calls his 25bb off with qq which he had obv been trapping with. The big blind has kk and mr k4 donk has t6 sooooted lol. Somehow kings hold up and queens scoop the side pot and mr k4 is looking tremendously tilted….

So to the bust hand. Its folded around to me on Mr K4′s bb and I tell myself before I open with my 12k stack at 400bb that If I’m not calling a shove from that guy I won’t open. I look down at 6′s and make it 1200 and it folds around to him and he makes it 8000 lol. I sighed and stuck it in and he goes ‘I guess I’m pot stuck now’ and calls off with q9 and binks the queen on the door card and thats the end of the main event for me. obviously calling off on a race with 66 for 30 bbs isn’t ideal but I really felt his range was 90% of the deck and when he made it 8k I knew the best hand he could really have was 77 so I actually felt like a favourite in the hand because he could easily have 1 under card or possibly 2 lol. Oh well fuck liver poker lol.

After the live washout I really needed some results online and they have started to come again with a win in the 100 1ra 6 max on Sunday on Full Tilt and also a 2nd place in the 100r 6 max on Full Tilt on Wednesday. These results earned me around 17k and 23k respectively and along with a 4th place in the stars 100r and a 3rd in the Tilt 50-50 means I’m on a real heater online. Every 6 max tourney I play in online I am feeling super confident and I really love the greater freedom 6 max allows… why cant all online tourneys be 6 max?? . I moved up in the rankings to 4th place this week and hopefully If I can keep up my recent play I can continue to move towards that number 1 spot. Its my birthday tomorrow so a group of us are going to go out to the club in the Wynn tonight called Tryst… should be a great night. Hopefully I can come back on Sunday and take down the stars $2 million… that would be a pretty sweat 23rd birthday present. Until then gl at the tables Chris

Overall at the WSOP in 2008 i’ve played 8 events and won’t be playing anymore until the main event later this week (due to needing a mini break from live after the 5k 6 max event) here’s my results so far…..

1. event 7 $2k nlh.1592 entrants I finished 124th for $4056!!! lol (lost a race in the money then shoved short with 56 sooted straight into 88 boo)

2. event 13 $2.5k nlh. 1390 entrants I finished about 650th (never got anything going and overshoved q7 sooted blind on blind into aq)

3. event 21 $5k nlh 731 entrants I finished about 300th (made a big laydown of two pair on the first hand still not sure whether I should of called or not then was extremely card dead all day b4 squeezing kq into kk ooops!

4. event 31 $2500 nlh. 6 max 1013 entrants I finished about 450th (barreled off half my stack early on but then managed to double up back to starting stack with tens versus Clonie gowen’s ace jack. Not much action from then on in untilt I jammed 12bbs on the buton with ace ten got called by 88…. flopped a ten but he turned his set…. gg me)

5. event 36 $1500 nlh. 2806 entrants I finished 189th for $3006!! (played pretty good on the whole but screwed when i 3 bet a guy with q4 sooted and a short stack woke up with ak behind me and I was commited to call and lost. Bust jamming 96 into kq when I really needed those blinds and antes almost held after a 9 hi flop but he 4 flushed the river booo)

6. event 38 $2000 nlh 605 entrants i finished about 450th (had JP on my left on my starting table until his aa was busted by ak sigh! I obviously never stood a chance as it was plh so I had to see flops lol also ak losing to ak all in pre doesnt help lol)

7. event 44 $1000 nlh rebuy 879 entrants I finished about 180th (was in for $6k in rebuys so not too bad. Had a really sick table in me sctrojans, brynkenney, sbuck21, Eric Froehlic, Shaundeeb and Klausen/Tulkaz (obv not all at the same time but they overlapped as 1 busted another sicko came along…) grinded all day but then reshoved 22 bbs blind on blind v aggro Canadian with a8 straight into aq meh)

8. event 46 $5000 nlh 6 max 805 entrants I finished about 330th (had AJ fucking K Hoosier on my left but we didn’t get involved 2 much. Felt in control of my stack and table and had chipped upto about 17.5k at 300bb when I raised 34 off on the button got flat called by AJK in the sb (put him on something like qj or kq sooted possibly trapping with a big pair and the bb who was a proper donk so could have anything. Flop came 942 rainbow…. dryest flop ever and AJK checks BB donk leads 1500 but he always has air on 90% his donk leads so far… I call and ajk folds. Turn is a 6 and he checks to me and isnt good enough to trap check here so i bet 3175 to protect my hand and also for value and he check calls after thinking for 2 minutes with only 6k behind. The river comes the 5 and he jams SIGH. This card makes my straight but I think he is bad enough to call the turn with just 78…. I call after thinking for maybe 20 seconds or so and obv he has 78 off wp sir. Now im short get it in 3 ways pre with ten ten after the same guy limps then calls my shove after he has been isolated pre and the isolater comes along2. At this stage I think I’m dead to a ten after he limp calls that much pre… the flop comes low and he bets the pre flop isolator off of his hand and sumhow he only has ak but binks the river ace to bust me from the tourney…. really frustrating when u know the guy is just going to donk off your chips and has no shot at actually winning.

After the last bust in particular I didn’t feel like playing live anymore for a while so decided only to play the main event and skip a few $1500′s and 2k’s and just chill in vegas and play a bit of online on the side. Online has been going ok with a couple of decent wins of the tilt ko tourney (won it 5 times now lol weeee microgrinders ftw) and a win of the early tilt 150 $40k guaranteed for just under $12k my only 5 figure cash in Vegas so far lol.

Played the Sundays online yesterday but proceeded to get screwed all over although I did win a prop bet that I made with a couple of my housemates which was that I would make a final table on a Sunday at 2/1 for 1k action with both. I actually managed 2 finals which were the Mansion 100k and the Ipoker 30k unfortunately I came 8th and 10th…. mansion was sick as I was 3rd in chips and got kk in the bb versus the cl on the button who somehow managed to hold the aces…Ipoker was just a simple ak down to a8 scenario after running tens into kings whilst chipleader to lose most of my stack before…. Good old Sundays… Just decided to play the $2500 on Wednesday at the Venetian. Time to finally make a noise live.

Ok here goes….. Loving it here in Vegas. The house is 2 sick and I get on well with all the people in the house (stevie’s birthday celebrations on Sunday night were particularly messy). I’ve only played two events so far in the WSOP…. the 2k nlh event 7 and the 2.5k nlh event 13. Event 7 was my first live event at the series this year and I got off to a great start when my aces held in a Huge all in pre flop confrontation versus Kings, jacks and a8 sooted?? wtf sir.

My starting table had a few tough spots in the face of Adanthar and Ryan D’Angelo (finished 20th in event 2 $1500 nlh and plays online under jaction eff/g0lfa). The rest of the table were pretty weak though and I felt like I was in great shape to pick up even more chips at this table once the two tough players had busted. Unfortunately I moved tables shortly after this and at my new table things didn’t go so well with me being particualry card and situation dead. However, I made it to day 2 and itm with a 27k stack at 1600bb (obviously I donked some off on the bubble).

Unfortuantely day 2 didn’t go so well and I only lasted 40 mins or so after I lost a very important flip with a8 versus a shortstack with 77. Shortly after I busted by shoving my last 12k with 65 sooted straight into 88 and despite a 5 on the flop I failed to get there. I only got $4k for 124th but it was a huge confidence boost finally getting a live cash and it being my first event too.

Onto my 2nd event and I’m not going to lie but this was pretty much a complete disaster. With the 2.5k buyin we were given 5000 chips at 25/50 blinds (wow 100 bb’s finally) instead of the 4000 in the previous event. This should of meant a bit more time to chip up at the start, however, I bluffed off 1500 on the first orbit and was playing catch up from there. I had a huge slice of luck when i got my stack in with 22 versus tt on a t92 3 diamond flop in a heads up pot and was outrageously lucky to hit running diamonds and chop the pot. After this hand my spirits picked up and I thought maybe it was going to be my day afterall. I managed to double up after flopping a set but never managed to push on from here and made a bad tilty overshove blind on blind with q7 sooted an ran into the table donks aq. Frustration got the better of me here and I’m definetly not going to be so rash when I play the 5k nlh on Wednesday.

As far as the online grinding is going things havent been too hot. I’m not sure If I mentioned this already but I had a bet with my housemate Pab on who can get the highest plb score on p5s for the month of June with the loser having to pay the other $1k, buy the whole house dinner (that’s becoming more expensive after we discovered japanese wagyu steak the other day at $240 a steak) and wear a t-shirt for the main event saying how the loser got pwned etc. Well 10 days into the bet and quite honestly I’m doing shit. It’s a term that often gets thrown around but I have been running awfully. I’ve been in the position to get quite a few big scores but have just had my pants pulled down at crucial times, even early on I’m getting coolered an unbelievable amount of the time. Its getting to the stage where I’m almost hating poker but I’ll get through this I always do…… I just hope it turns around sooner rather than later. I probably need some kind of party speed luckbox win or something. Anyway as I’m writing it I’m going to put a full days schedule in online (something I haven’t done for a while) before the WSOP event tomorrow. Fingers crossed I can start making some big noise again.

When I was given the oppurtunity to put my blog onto bluff I jumped at the chance due to the great exposure it would receive. I Wouldn’t say I’m a huge reader of poker magazines but when I do read them it would usually be Bluff or 1 of the UK magazines that I have done stuff for in the past. Lots of great players are writing these blogs on here and I think it will be interesting to see everyone’s perspective on the game and how people deal with the high’s and the low’s of the game. Hopefully this will be an interesting blog to read and I can hit up some big results for you to read about…. Here is my first post…

I arrived in Vegas on Monday with Allinstevie and Pab, Geeforce and his gf Zel arrived the following day. The house is sooooooo sick here’s a link to it again.

http://www.lasvegasretreats.com/rental/property/4-bedroom/casa-de-monte.html.

The other night we had a little drinking session after online mtt’s finished for the day and I decided on taking up a daft prop bet….This involved staying up all of the next day, (24 hours without sleep when I started!), riding a hangover when the alcohol started to wear off and also having to win a tourney with over 4k for the win and more than 100 runners. The bet was only for $1k at 2 to 1 odds but I just dont like losing so I was highly motivated. I started the session at 9am Vegas time (5pm uk time) with a $22 freezeout on stars with 1284 runners LOL donkaments! plus a $109 on full tilt and basically registered for every tourney going left right and centre.

I made goood headway in the stars $22 $20k thanks to a double up on the first hand of the tourney…. LOL at this http://www.pokerhand.org/?2682704. Built a stack up gradually in that and the 109 b4 flatting aces to a 5x raise versus another big stack (lol he was bad so my play wasnt seethrough to him). The flop was qj x which is kind of shitty obv so I was going to proceed with caution depending on his betsizing. Once he potted it though I was pretty sure he didnt have queens or jacks so I jammed hoping for a call from aq or something…. unfortunately he had qj and despite turning the ten i bricked the river and had to grind the short stack before busting 10th

In the $22 I was practically falling asleep inbetween hands 3 tables out before the pokerstars alert would awake me and leave me in a startled state… thank god Stevie came back from the shops with the craziest energy drink you will ever see (see top picture) which enabled me to wake up and pull a super sick suckout here versus a constant 4x the bb raiser…. can you say jokerstars? http://www.pokerhand.org/?2682794. So after this sick suckout I really wanted to make the most of it and take it down, also winning the prop bet and a triple crown…..

It was pretty weird playing $22 freezeout players. One guy was particularly crazy and I made a very important calldown versus him here… http://www.pokerhand.org/?2682848. Once I call the turn i was calling any river. He should realise this and give up on his bluff on the river…. happy days he doesnt though. Now I was in the driving seat and it should of been all over. He busted out shortly after and we started hu play with the following chip stacks…

Seat 8: Moorman1 (2440832 in chips)
Seat 9: HuggyHB12 (1297168 in chips)

He owned me hu for a little bit (AS EVERYONE ALWAYS DOES SIGH) and then we got it all in pre here… http://www.pokerhand.org/?2682900 ‘NO ACE 1 TIME!!!!!!’…………. ‘OH FUCK IM DRAWING DEAD’ ‘well If I’m going to lose I might as well lose to quads!’ Tried to make a combeack after this but ran a7 into aa with 20 big blinds gggggggggggggggggg.

The day was still young though and I still held out hope… a 6th in the tilt 35k was as near as I got though and a lot of stacks donked off or bad beated and continuing tiredness…. 37 hours without sleep saw the Moomin finally quit and own Pab at pool before finally getting some sleep.. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ Good night.
