Finally back from Vegas, and I am happy to be home.  My first WSOP didn’t quite go as I hoped, but I didn’t lose money, so I’ll take it in stride.  I really only made one run in the 2k event, so was kind of annoying that I didn’t get to enjoy the end game excitement again.  I made it deep in a couple Venetian Events, only to bubble by a few spots around the money.  Live poker is annoying, make it deep, waste a couple days of your lives for nothing, definitely prefer the online action, but realize the big scores and potential sponsors come out of the live action, so definitely will be resting for a few months and then will continue the battle on the live front.

The main event was typical for me, made it deep into day 2, and went out with 20 minutes left in play.  AK to JJ, and the dream was over, heh.  Of the 7 of us in the house that played, 3 of us cashed, so that was impressive.  John, therookieqq9, made it exciting and made it to day 6, before taking a brutal beat when AK didn’t hold against A8 AIPF.  If that held he would have had average stack with 40 left, such a mean game at times.

So since I’ve been back, I have logged in a few sessions, and started off terrible but this past weekend went much better.  Managed to chop the 100r at stars 3 handed for 18k, and took 2nd in the 100k freeroll at stars, outlasted over 5500 players, so that was kind of cool, def the biggest field I have ever FT’d before.  Sunday was like a lot of sundays, so close to making a lot of big cashes, and not much love late.  I back a few guys, and that was the story for all of us, ended up a little at the end of the day, but still had that empty feeling in my stomach, ah well the next sunday isn’t too far away.

Things have been busy off the poker front as well here. Sarah and I are moving into our house this wednesday and have been dealing with all the extra tasks that come with that, annoying to say the least.  But we are stoked to get in and setup.  I finally get to put my dream office together, it won’t be done right away as I’m not exactly sure what to do with the space I have, but I’m going to come up with something good.  Will work on pictures for this once I have it up and going.  Anyway, I’m off to watch a flick, have a little nap, then I’ll probably put an evenign session in.  I will be on top of my blog a little more now as things are settling down a little and will have more time for things when I’m away from the virtual felt,

WSOP so far . . . .

Just finished playing a little basketball with Sarah, managed to work her over at 21, heh.  Heading out to dinner shortly, but thought I would toss a few lines in first.

Everyone in the house gamed online yesterday.  “Improved”, “TheNorfman”, “TheRookieQQ9″, “YoungSupremacy”,”CMoney”, “scossett”, and  “Stevol”  who managed to take down the
Brawl. That was pretty sweet and put everybody in a good mood.  I literally bubbled the Brawl FT in 10th place.  Got all my chips in against this  Clownshoe who had AK when I had AQ.  He
raised my BB  5x 4 times in a row from the cutoff and manages to show up with AK the 5th time. That was fun.  But I  made an  FT and came 6th in the 300k at Party Poker which paid 13kish.  So at least I was up on the day. I haven’t been able to get too much going on the live front.  I did make a run in the 2k and took 35th there for 11.5k.   AA didn’t hold up late, and then ran T8s into QQ when I was short, so gg me.  Pretty funny scenario at the end of day 1.   Helmuth was too my immediate right. He was barking about young internet players and how they are too aggressive and he traps them all day, etc etc.   We exchanged a few words, but nothing too serious.  A few of the guys from the house were railing me as the day was coming to an end.  Last hand of the day, Helmuth limped UTG, I limped in
the 2 hole with pocket 2s, SB completed and BB checked.  We saw a flop of 246.  Check, Check, Helmuth led for 3k, I popped it to 11k, the blinds folded, and Helmuth pushed.  I obviously had to call, he rolled over 46o and I held to win.  One of my buddies started laying into Phil, giving him a
hard time about him limping with 46o and losing to an “internet donk”. It was a cooler, but he doesn’t care much for Helmuth and thought it was a great time to get under his skin…mission accomplished!! Helmuth went off and called security over.  My buddy was asked to leave as the croud and tensions grew.  But luckily the day was over and the situation didn’t get too carried away.

So that cash for 11.5k has covered all my live buyins so far and hopefully I can get something going this week.  I’m playing in a PLO H/L tomorrow that I won entry to  by taking down a Mansion side events package.  Have never played the game before, but wasn’t able to get it changed so gl me.  Assuming I don’t make day 2, I’m going to roll my dice in the 1k rebuy as it will be a fun tourney
that will play deep and have a sweet prize pool.  I will drop another line at the end of the week,  hopefully it will be about my first WSOP FINAL TABLE!

Finally . . . . .

Sitting down to write my first blog entry ever&.  I never thought this would happen. My last composure was in uni, which I dropped out of three years ago and kind of stumbled on poker in the process.

but here it is . . . . . . just finished going through the WSOP schedule and finally have a tentative plan mapped out, 14 events working out to approximately 40K.  I can live with that number, I was expecting it to be much worse. Half of that is already covered with a couple packages, allowing me to breathe a little easier.  I arrive in Vegas  June 9th, just in time for the 5k the following day. It will be a great starting tournament with a sweet prize pool. ONE TIME PLEASE!  Hopefully summer in Vegas will be good to me (5 weeks in an unreal flat sweet pad- with my Sarah(gf) and 7 poker buddies, I don’t know how it couldn’t be).

My live success of late has been shocking. I have cashed a decent amount but always for the minimum.  The last silly hand I experience took place on the PPM Cruise. I don’t often play back hands, but I think this is a fun one to review for a chuckle.  So yea, I have about 46kish, blinds500-1k, average stack is roughly 40k. Timex is to my immediate left and bond18 to my immediate right. The big stack at the table is a young German Dude who  I had played with before in Dortmund (I got my chips in just inside the money with 44 to his TT and another guys AA. I obviously turned my 4 since I run so well, but a T on the river sent me for some beers with my buddies, worse could happen).  So back to the ship, this German Dude makes it 3k to go from 1st position. I flatted with KK in MP. The SB, who I perceived as tight, makes it 8.5k to go leaving 12k behind.  German Dude announces ALLIN, I put my chips in too, and the SB smirks to himself saying he’s crushed, but should probably call anyway. He folds shortly after and shows KQdd.  Well I probably don’t need to say more, but the other guy flips over QQ. The flop and turn are all rags. Just before the river, Timex chimes in with he’s (German Dude)a favorite now.  They have some history and Timex thinks the guy runs like a Titan. Obviously a Q ball hits the river.  Shite.  And to make it even more unreal, Timex 2 outed me on the river with QQ to KK in Copenhagen! The hand had far too many dimensions.

But ah well, I was on a cruise and exploring the Mediterranean with my family so it wasn’t hard to get over. Kind of made me smile . . . . . . ok, dinnertime for me here, and nightly session is start soon . . . . . .
