Full Tilt $25,000 PLO Heads Up and some other stuff.
- Andrew Brown | December 12, 2009
As I write this blog, I am sitting in row 17D, JetBlue style, en route to Orlando for some more work with Deepstacks. This will be my third trip down south to film some instructional poker videos, and I can’t deny that I really enjoy these brief get-a-ways. I am so glad I play poker for a living… Here I am, flying to Florida to “work” which in this case is actually a lot of fun. The flight attendant shares a similar situation, seeing as how she’s flying’ and workin’, but something tells me she doesn’t enjoy her job nearly as much as I enjoy mine. Nothing against flight attendants, in fact I’m wiling to bet (ha ha) that the perks of such a job make for some nice vacations, but I can see her frustration, and I don’t have to soul-read Phil Hellmuth-style to see that…
Lucky for me, I do in fact play poker, and fortunately it has been going quite well for me as of late. Since my 25k HU PLO championship victory, I’ve been surging in the cash games. 25/50 ante was the plan, but going back to my travel reference, listening to “Stakes is High” by De La Soul is fitting for the 50/100, 100/200 and 200/400 games I’ve been dabbling in.
Just a random question I’d like to pose to the public. Why is it that when I show a hand after making a bluff that my opponents get legitimately upset and start calling me names? I dunno about you, but when somebody shows me a bluff, sure it might steam me a little, but I’m not gonna complain! Technically its just more information for your opponents if you’re showing hands, so I’ve been a bit confused as to why so many players get so upset when I show them a bluff. My standard response is, “settle down tiger, I show hands all the time, nothing personal” which usually ends up getting me called even worse names, despite it being the truth. Its a leak in my game that I can’t help myself but show some filthy bluffs every once in a while, although obviously there are SOME bluffs that I cannot show. I should take a page out of Huck Seed’s book and let my cards do the talking (if they could talk, they would have lost their voice a long time ago), but like I said, I just can’t help myself sometimes!
Thanks to everybody who sent me kind words after my tournament victory, much appreciated. Also thanks to the railbirds that I enjoy chatting with while I play sometimes. When my website is up and running I’m considering doing a railbird shout-out section LOL. Adios for now…
PS. to the railbird that attempts to sell my screen name to other railbirds every single night for $5, I give it away for free, all u gotta do is ask me for it. Sorry for ruining your business… Look up “deluxe hugs” on youtube if you want to see what this railbird reminds me of.

Glad to finally see you recognized as one of the best of the best. Been a long time coming and this is only the beginning. Keep it up!!!

This guy is easily hands down the nicest, nosebleed player I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing.
Full tilt has tons of pros who refuse tobtalk to the rail and when they do play low they berate players. If lederer and company want to sign a great player in every game who would actually enjoy working for the site and take time out if his life to chat and play with his fans.. This is the man!!!
Goodluck to all
If you can make them tilt sweet. I like to show rock like folds where I am pretty should I am losing and then steal, but I am a tiny stakes money grinding. The value in the ad is worth more then the risk of calling a flushed river at times. I hope to get up there in the nose bleeds some day.
